Dr. Byron was raised on a dairy farm in Fleming Co. After learning about osteopathy well after college, he graduated from PCSOM in 2011. He completed Family Medicine/OMT residency in Ashland, Kentucky in 2014 followed by a NMM +1 in Athens, Ohio in 2015. After over a decade of inpatient and outpatient NMM practice, he is currently teaching in the OMT department at OU-HCOM (Athens campus) while designing his NMM clinic to open late 2026.
He was involved with KOMA as a student and resident--including election as Resident to the Board in 2013-14, before moving to Ohio. Upon returning to Kentucky in 2022, he once again became involved with KOMA and was elected to the board in 2024.
He lives in Lexington with his wife and three children. Besides KOMA, he volunteers at his church, enjoys cooking and when he finds extra time, uses it for reading and tabletop gaming.
